Exspectantes Beatam Spes -- Waiting in joyful hope
Happy Advent!
So, what are we doing this year? "A Yearbook of Seasons and Celebrations," by Joanna Bogle, is a good source for various activities for Advent. (And, well, the rest of the year, too, as it is a yearbook.) Find it here or here. Personally, I enjoy reading about the British customs, learned whilst we were living there. I still haven't tackled the Christmas pudding recipe. Maybe this year?

Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum
Here are some photos from our visit to Woodland Cemetery.

The gravesite of the Wright family: Orville, Wilbur, their sister and parents. I'm not sure who else was here, as most of the plot was covered with a thick layer of leaves. (It is a cemetery and arboretum, after all!)

The gravesite of poet Paul Laurence Dunbar.
We also saw the graves and/or family plots of other famous Daytonians: Erma Bombeck, the Mead family (as in, the notebook paper), the Huffmans (Huffy bikes).
Although we visited almost two months after Hurricane Ike made its way to the Midwest, we saw lots of fallen and/or broken trees that had not yet been cleared away.
