Four of Us at the Reds Game on August 22

Emily, Madeleine, John, and Steve went to the Reds game versus the Diamondbacks on August 22.  We were sitting in the second row in right-center field.

In the top of the third inning, Jay Bruce made this catch right in front of us.  You can see Madeleine, John, and Steve (Emily is being the person standing in the first row wearing a gray shirt).  This is a screen capture from the highlight on MLB Network, which was broadcasting the game.

It was a good day and the Reds won 2-1!

How are you celebrating?

Happy 200th Birthday, Pride and Prejudice!

We started the celebrations this week with our Sunday Dinner.  The menu?  A combination British high tea and cream tea delectables.

Then, some of us began another viewing of the definitive BBC/A&E "Pride and Prejudice."  We're only a third of the way through.  It is long, but that makes it a good way to stretch out our festivities.

Another fun activity? Here you can find a brilliant audio reading of Mr. Bennet's reading a letter he wrote to Lizzie.  He's writing in modern times, with his Regency-era sensibilities.  It's a good laugh.  (Hat tip: The Austen Only website.)

That's good to get us started!
